Postgraduate Training Program in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing
Fellows are immersed in intensive clinical practice, gaining experience in:
-
Diagnosis and Management: Sinus node dysfunction, AV block, supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, syncope, and inherited arrhythmias (e.g., Brugada Syndrome, Long QT)
-
Invasive Procedures:
-
Electrophysiology studies (EPS)
-
Catheter ablation: AVNRT, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation (pulmonary vein isolation), ventricular tachycardia
-
Pacemaker and ICD implantation
-
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)
-
Lead extraction and hybrid surgical ablation
-
-
Non-Invasive Testing: Tilt table testing, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and event monitoring.
Fellows rotate through inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. They develop increasing responsibility as they progress, performing complex procedures under faculty supervision.
